Resident Evil 4 Remake Will Focus More On “Player Choice 2023

One major change made was a focus on player choice, with the developers wanting to provide players with more options for dealing with some of the trickier encounters in Resident Evil 4. For one, we knew the Resident Evil 4 Remake would be getting rid of the infamous QTEs from the original, but it turns out Capcom has done much more to try to modernize gameplay for both new and returning players. The changes to the Resident Evil 4 remake are not just limited to just setting the stage, with a variety of gameplay adjustments making this new title significantly different than the original.

The Resident Evil 4 remake makes significant changes to the third-person shooter battle system introduced with the original game. Almost everything feels more fluid in the forthcoming 2023 remake, particularly basic movement and fight animations.


The remakes additions and improvements seem to have made a specific section a whole lot more enjoyable in 2023. Of course, we do not expect this to change for Resident Evil 4 — it would require significant reworking of the story — but we still want to see some changes to connect RE4s events to the rest of Capcoms series in more ways.


When it comes to important core characters such as Leon, Ashley, Ada, and Wesker, we have no doubt in our minds that Capcom is going to be paying a lot of attention to how Capcom wants to depict prominent core characters such as Leon in Resident Evil 4, but hopefully, they are going to pay just as much attention to some of the less central, but still essential characters in the game. The main protagonist Leon for players might feel like a weak echo of the self-assured, masterful martial arts-skilled Leon from infamous Resident Evil 6, but Hirabayashi said that the Resident Evil team is keeping their focus focused on improving on Game 4, without thinking of the other titles in the Resident Evil series, or in the survival horror genre.


According to Capcom insider Dusk Golem, Resident Evil 7 was supposed to have a choice mechanic, which would slow the pace of the action briefly and let players decide, a lot like we typically see with Telltale titles. Capcom insider Dusk Golem claims the project was ultimately scrapped in favour of returning to the roots of the Resident Evil franchise, resulting in the series first ever mainline entry featuring a first-person camera, and also introduced entirely new characters.


Fanbyte reports that multiple scenes of Resident Evil 4 would have been drastically altered from the original, with a decent proportion of the game reported to be set in the evening, possibly including an early sequence in which Leon battles against infected hordes in the village.
